Tube passengers stuck in tunnel for hours... and staff didn’t know

Hundreds of London Underground travellers were in a tunnel for almost two hours, angrily. On account of it, an investigation is being required. Moreover, before this accident, there were some others problems.
The passengers were there since the central line was suspended seeing that the driver couldn’t communicate with the controllers.

Nicole Kidman is one of my favorite actresses, who was the protagonist of the films as Moulin Rouge or for instance Bewitched. I am going to describe her because I would be so happy if I meet her.
She is really pretty. Nicole Kidman has got long, wavy and blond hair, though she sometimes has got straight hair. She is thin-faced, tall and slim. In addition, she has blue eyes and a big mouth. What’s more, she always wears elegant, fashionable, trendy and smart clothes.
About her personality, I think she is very sociable, talented, self-assured, polite, and also a little bit relaxed. Moreover, in my opinion, she is an honest and caring person.
I would like she will tell me some things about the films and her work. I would have an autograph in my room if I met Nicole Kidman. If I had met her, I would have known the star world. However, it is quite impossible.

I am writing to complain about a digital clock radio which I bought last weekend for my mother because it is useful, portable and cheap. The trouble is it can only receive two radio stations and it is impossible to switch off the light, it is always on, but the worst is that the alarm clock does not work well. If I may switch on the alarm, the alarm will not sound although I will have turned up the volume.

When I tried to return the faulty digital clock radio to Designer Electronics, the shop assistant told me he was not the reponsible for these special offers and he does not want to replace it.

I would like you could let me have a refund but I will accept a replacement if it is impossible. I am going to enclose the receipt with this letter. You can contact me if you need any more information.

Dear Sophie,

I'm having a fantastic time because today it's 1st May.

On 1st May people don't work here because it's "the worker's Day" and everyone is happy for it.

In Olot, every year there are many shops in street. The shops are in the morning, and now I'm shopping with my friends.

My family and I always get together to have lunch at my grandmother's house. She usually shares out the food and after all the rest clear up the mess at the end.

In the afternoon, I sometimes watch a film but I think today my friends and I will watch an interesting football match.

Why don't you visit us next time? You'd like it!

In this course I read TREASURE ISLAND by Robert Louis Stevenson.

The story is an adventure novel about some good people and pirates who want a treasure.

Jim Hawkins, the protagonist, found the treasure's map and decided with his friends to look for it. But when they created the crew, they didn't know that some pirates were in the crew for catch the treasure, too.

They look for a treasure and they have a lot of fights with pirates.

Els Pets

In our english classes, Carla, Eva and I chose the group Els Pets for do the presentation.

This is our work about els pets:

PRESENTATION

We are going to explained more things about Catalan group called Els Pets.
We chose this group because we like their lyrics and it is a popular group in Catalonia.
Els Pets is a Catalan pop rock band with Lluís Gavaldà the lead singer, composer and guitarist, Joan Reig the drumer and Falin Cáceres plays the bass.
This group is from the village of Constantí (Tarragona) and it was formed in 1985. In their origens they began to play for his region. His style was called Agricultural Rock, as a group that was played in towns and it wasn’t from the city.
In 1991 they took part in the macroconcert of Palau Sant Jordi with Sopa de Cabra, Sau and Sangtraït. Since this concert they have become more famous for everywhere of Catalonia.

EXPERIENCES

In 1989 they recorded their first album, but they weren’t popular until they removed the disc Bondia which sold more than 85.000 CDs.
Els Pets has 12 albums, for exemple the most knews: Agost, Vine a la festa and Bondia. They colaborated with others groups, macroconcerts and with TV3 programmes, too.
The last CD which they recorded is “Com anar al cel i tornar”.
They have different prizes, like Enderrock prizes for the best singer, the best song, the best group, the best concert… and the prize “Éxits d’or”.

PERSONAL OPINION

We think their music can be funny, sad, extraordinary, cheerful, peacefull, lively, pensative, relaxing,moved, reflexive… very variable.
We belive their lives aren’t very quiet because they should be pending for the fans, the concerts and take off time to be with his family to do things with the group.
We know these group but we are very surprised about all prizes they won and their exits. We don’t know that they have 12 albums although we had listened many of his songs, and we like it.

OLOT - NY

New York City is bigger than Olot, like an elephant is bigger than an ant.
Olot has got a lot of volcanoes and mountains but few and small skyscrapers and important buildings. In my city, also, there are a lot of farmhouses and fields.
There are small shops in the center of the city, but not a lot, fewer than all the shops that has got only one important street in New York.
We haven’t got any airport, nor undergrounds, nor trains, etc. But, of course, we have some buses, cars, bicycles… New York City is more modern than my city.
The highest building here is like the smallest building of New York. It’s lower than any volcano or important mountain.
In our city, we are 32.903 people. In your city, there are more than eight millions of habitants and New York City is larger than Olot, too.
Our street’s names aren’t numbers; they often have the names of famous people or big cities.

I love New York but I also like Olot, although they are totally different.

Long ago, there was a news reporter who had got a magic camera which records future.

One day, the news reporter took a photo with this camera.

In the reporter's photo you could see a terrorist and a bank robber. They were robbing a house while the rich punk girl was proving her new lipstick. It's a lipstick that makes you beautiful.

So, the news reporter went to visit his friend who was a politician. Next, they wanted to avoid the robbery but the terrorist and the bank robber escaped with the punk's flying car because the police didn't listens them and thought they were crazy.

One week ago, when the politician was training supersonic shoes for speaking, he finished his new invention: a watch telling you how long you will live!

He was really a magician and he had made the camera which record future, too.

Suddently, he used the watch and it told that he had got only 50 hours of life!
50 hours later, he was so nervous but he was living.
At the end, he looked at the watch and he realized that the watch was spoiled!

Hi!
How are things?

A month ago, our English teacher, Carmina, invited Judit to our English class. Judit is a friend of Carmina and Judit also is a IES Bosc de la Coma’s teacher.

When Judit finished her career, she decided improve her English in Oakland, California and she want work of AU-PAIR, too.

So, after she sent the application letters, she was very lucky because she was accepted by Billie Joe Armstrong and his family!

Billie Joe Armstrong is the lead singer of a very popular group called GREEN DAY.

She tells us they are a normal family.
She has had a good time with they and she’s taught Spanish to Joey and Jacob. They’re the children of Billie and his wife Adrienne.

She has been on tour with the band and she can visit Hawaii, Los Angeles, Virginia, Florida, San Francisco, Oakland (of course), and anothers places.

She thinks the best moment is the Christmas holidays.

Amaia Montero's Biography

Amaia Montero was born in 1976, in Irún. When she was 20 years old, she started the group La Oreja de Van Gogh. She sang in talent contest but they didn't win. They went to another talent contest. They won! When they got a contract with Sony group released their first CD "Díle al sol". After that, they played 150 concerts, they recorded second CD, " El Viaje de Copperpot". In 2000, one year later, she sang with Alex Ubago on his first CD.

Teràpia de Shock is my favourite rock group in catalan. They are 2 vocalists and guitarrists:Ferran Massegú , and Jaume Sucarrats. And too there is a vocalist and bass player Albert Parés and finally Gerard Lopez, the drummer. Their songs are: "La Soledat, Pobres i Rics, Sense Tu, La Taverna, Festes del Tura, El Bar and Ara".

My dog, called Xispa is beautiful. She has got 4 years old and she has got white and curly "hair". She is very active and she bring very work but I love dogs and this isn't problem for me. She likes play with a ball and eat, she is very greedy!
